Takes me back Sid to when I was there in 1987 & 1993, great birding! We walked up and down the gorge in 87, no lifts or guides then. In 93 we walked up the track and down the gorge - my knees have never recovered!

Meriwether.Yes,a truly classic place. We did 2 weeks here and due to research and luck i found 2 of my target migrant - Green warblers at Tasucu graveyard,by the turn off to the Goksu delta - where we found 2 Broad billed sands.Magic.

We had 242 sp in 13 days.

Better off going birding with the Maestegi Tour Company Clive, you'd have a bigger list now

Sid,did you do the North East?I'll put a photo on CBC1 of the same area 10 years later.

Had Red-tailed Wheatear on the road from Pozanti to Camardi.Iraq Babbler had to be the best bird.242 sp,just goes to show how much the country has changed with large scale drainage.

Clive. We flew to Antalya and did Akseki. Then the coastal sites - Goksu delta,Tarsus,Karatas and Tuzla golu before heading east to Birecik,Halfeti and Isikli. We then headed back west calling at Col gulu and Atatepe barraje en route to Camardi/Demirkazik.Whilst there we spent a day at the Sultan marshes. We then drove north to Kulu golu, calling at Elek golu,Nigde/Akkaya barraje and Sultanhani on the way.
Eregli marshes was on our site list but we were told it was completely dry by a birder we met on our first day,so we skipped it.
